Choosing black & white art: Italy art series

If you are not sure what color palette you should choose when decorating your space, you have two options here: you can contact me of course & I can share with you some amazing ideas :)

Or, you always can choose black & white color combination - the use of black and white in decorating can create stunning decor.

Using the color black adds a focal point of color that grounds, and adds a modern look to a room.

And moreover, black and white are a perfect color combination for any decorating style, especially contemporary interiors.

As an artist, I love to draw using black & white when I especially concentrate on tiny details, forms, shapes & minor features when you can see them separately from the color.

In the end, I always love the final "timeless classic" look - the one that, for example, the black & white photography of Eugène Atget (French architectural photographer) has.

What frames to choose for the black & white art?

First of all, decide on the mat color: depending on the art piece density it can be darker or brighter: ivory, white, grey, light green, beige.

The wider is artwork, the brighter should be the mat.

The smaller is your art the more intense can be the mat color to fix the viewer's eye.

Next, think about your wall's color & what effect you want to create with the art piece: for the white/ivory walls, both white & black frame color will work well. White will be more expanding and black will create obvious borders. Light brown, wooden, metallic color also will be a good choice here. To match it better with the room's style, see what color is the furniture/shelves/ table.

If your room color scheme is dense & colorful here the frame's color should correspond to it for a better visual effect. You can use online color palette libraries (like the Canva.com color palette generator).

And overall, do not forget if you are creating the art wall with various items that the colors for the frames match each other.

If you are looking for the classic style detailed artwork, for the classic bright room design, take a look at the "Florence" & "Rome" series!

I feel that the "Florence'' series, as the drawings are dense and filled with details, will look perfect in the white or ivory frames & mat. They will be an exceptional focal point for the space they decorate.

Here you can read more about the Florence series & see the video for inspiration I've created.

"Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica" series is more "light" and spacious, still telling all the details to the viewer. They will look perfect in the black or other darker color frames, and also you can use the wide frames as well in white/ivory color.

Both series are available to order! Contact me for more details!
