The specific of this series is that it signifies the new drawing period of the artist: it is a visual study of different architectural styles and buildings’ specifics. The Black and white style highlights the forms, perspective and takes the viewer's attention to the details: decorative elements, shapes of the buildings, shadows, vibrant lines. This series is a combination of simplicity and classical image representation.
World heritage architecture Series, 2020 – 2021
The series consists of realistic colorful drawings that represent research of the traditional authentic architecture. This series is a radical transition from no color to color, from architectural study to spiritual meanings and symbolism.
The series aims to capture the richness and diversity of architectural forms, colors, and decorations that are all together are a part of world cultural heritage.
The viewer can observe the beauty and the harmony in the geometric patterns that reflect a higher and deeper geometric order.
World heritage architecture Series: South Korea, 2020
The series consists of realistic colorful drawings that shows the viewer the details of the traditional architecture in South Korea. Julia spent 2 years working in South Korea and this series captures the main traditional color schemes and details that were used for the residential buildings and palaces. Like the other arts of Korea, architecture is characterized by naturalistic tendencies, simplicity, the economy of shape, and the avoidance of extremes.
